It was a sunny day in San Francisco. Pinky and the Brain were waiting for their good friend and roommate Justin to come home from shopping with his parents to find a gift for their neighbor Meg's upcoming birthday.

"Gee Brain, what kind of neat stuff do you think Justin will find at the mall?" Pinky asked the shorter, plumper lab mouse.

"The standard things any young adult would buy at a shopping mall, Pinky; designer clothing, electronics and useless knick-knacks."

Pinky frowned. "Aw Brain, only you could suck the fun out of going to the mall, POIT!"

Brain smirked slightly. "Just a small thing I do, Pinky."

Just then, Justin's father parked in the driveway. Justin got out of the car, gave both his parents a hug and kiss goodbye, and came inside as they drove home. "Hey guys, you'll never believe what I found at the mall."

"Designer clothing, electronics and useless knick-knacks?" Pinky guessed.

"What?" Justin frowned slightly at Brain. "Did you tell that to him?"

"Perhaps," Brain replied, earning himself a noogie from the red-headed young man. "All right, all right, I surrender."

"So what DID you find?" Pinky asked intriguedly.

Justin grinned as he took out a few things from the plastic bags he'd carried inside with him. "I got this for Meg." He showed off a small red velvet box with a pair of opal earrings inside.

"Ooh, Meggie's gonna LOVE those, NARF!" Pinky commented.

"Indeed, especially since opal is both her and Justin's birthstone," Brain concurred.

"And I got some toys for Owen, Olivia and baby Steven," Justin continued, showing the lab mice the teddy bears and dolls he'd picked out for Meg and Ratigan's children.

"Aww, you really are a great godfather, aren't you?" Pinky cooed.

Brain noticed two square lumps in the largest bag Justin had brought. "What are those?"

"I wanted to save the best for last." Justin took out two boxes. In each box was a small figurine of a white lab mouse; one that looked like Pinky and one that looked like Brain. "Pinky and the Brain Funko Pop figurines. I saw them and had to buy them."

"Egad, look Brain, they look just like us!" Pinky commented as he peered over the Pinky figure. "Hello, tiny Pinky."

Brain looked wordlessly at the box containing his figure. Then, he hugged Justin, tears in his eyes. "What did we ever do to deserve such an amazing friend?"

Justin smiled and patted the Brain's large head. "You just are, Brain. You just are."

"Hmm...are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?"

"I think so, Brain, but I doubt you can make a BLT with Kevin Bacon."

Brain chuckled slightly at Pinky's quip. "No, I mean we should take Justin out to dinner to celebrate how great a friend he is."

"Ooh, I like that idea better," Pinky agreed, clapping his hands. "D'you think we should invite Meggie and Ratigan and the kiddos too?"

"We probably should to be neighborly," Brain replied.

"Oh boy, inviting Professor Blackhole Belly out to dinner? This is gonna get pricey,"

Justin chuckled, making the lab mice laugh. They truly were grateful to have such a caring friend.
